The following story was originally published in the Thursday, December 11, 1941 edition of the Ainsworth Star-Journal – four days following the Sunday, December 7th, 1941 surprise military attack on Pearl Harbor by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service.

Sandhills Cowboy Hall of Fame Nominations Due by December 31, 2021

Time is quickly running out for the public to submit nominations for the 2022 Nebraska Sandhills Cowboy Hall of Fame. Nominations are due by December 31, 2021. Started in 2006, the Sandhills Cowboy Hall of Fame continues to honor the men and women who have made a lasting contribution to the Sandhills and our cowboy way of life.

Legislative Notes

Since the past election, there have been an increasing number of what I call “state expressions of sovereignty.” Things such as multiple States passing resolutions declaring a second-amendment sanctuary, for example. In our federalism system (Federal, State & Local, The People) I see the States doing this to remind the federal creature (they created) to mind it’s place, declaring themselves not obliged to obey the ever more numerous and oppressive edicts of Fedzilla.

NDA Announces 2021-22 Nebraska Agricultural Youth Council (NAYC); Includes Two AHS Alumni

The Nebraska Agricultural Youth Council (NAYC) is a leadership opportunity for college students interested in careers in agriculture. In late November, the Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) announced the 2021-2022 NAYC Members. 2019 AHS graduate Sam Wilkins and 2021 AHS graduate Logan Hafer, who both attend the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, are both on the council. Wilkins was selected to serve on the 2021-2022 NAYC leadership team as the Secretary.
