City of Ainsworth Seeks Public Input on Garbage Service Preferences

The City of Ainsworth has been reviewing and considering various options for future garbage service within the city. There are many variables to be considered. The City Council and City Administration would like input from the community on preferences for the administration of the service moving forward.

Brad Wilkins Now President of Nebraska Association of School Boards

Brad Wilkins, who has served on the Ainsworth Board of Education since 2013, is now the President of the Board of Directors of the Nebraska Association of School Boards (NASB). During this year’s NASB Delegate Assembly at the 2021 State Education Conference held November 17th to 19th, previous NASB President Stacie Higgins passed the gavel to Wilkins.

Annual Christmas Pageant to be Hosted by Women’s Club on Dec. 5th

Around the world, Christmas is a time for family and community traditions. Residents of the “Christmas City of the Sandhills” in Ainsworth are especially proud of their own unique tradition - a live re-enactment of the birth of the Christ child in Bethlehem. For over a half a century now, members of the Ainsworth Women’s Club have presented the story of Christ’s life in an annual Christmas Pageant free to members of the community.

Small Business Saturday Craft and Vendor Fair Held to Showcase Small Businesses in Area

Small Business Saturday, November 27th, was celebrated by 20+ vendors presenting their goods at the Craft and Vendor Fair at the Brown County Community Hall in Johnstown. Clothing, jewelry, handcrafted wood items, food, home decor, bath bombs, crocheted items and so much more was on display for sale at this fair.

The Ainsworth Area Chamber of Commerce will start the Chamber Bucks Drawings this week. Remember to ask for your green slips to enter the drawings at participating Chamber businesses.

Exciting Season Lies Ahead of Bulldog Boys Basketball Team

“This could be a real exciting season for Bulldog Basketball,” Coach Jake Nelson said in regards to the upcoming season for the 2021-2022 school year. “Our experience and athleticism will cause problems for other teams as long as we continue to improve in how we play as a team.”
