Starting this fall, a new Special Landowner Deer Season gives a qualifying landowner a three-day season on their own property preceding the regular firearm deer season. The $8.00 Special Landowner Deer Permit is valid only for the three-day season: November 6-8, 2021.

Janice Fisher of Fullerton doesn’t see herself as the humble heroine that she is. For over twenty years, she struggled through the arduous task of taking care of two sons with muscular dystrophy. Throughout that time, the family was living in Ainsworth.

On Saturday, August 28th, around 12:44 p.m., neighbors in the North Main Street area in Ainsworth were shaken when a lightning bolt struck a tree and broke up cement in the driveway of Lisa and Tom Chohon's residence. Mrs. Chohon shared with us that the basement windows and one window in the living room were blown out. The rain gutters attached to the house were blown off leaving an 8”-9” hole in the house. She said the plaster in the sunroom cracked and so far the dishwasher is now out of commission. All electronics, charging cords and surge protectors no longer work. Chunks of the Chohon driveway were found on their roof.

August 22nd - August 28th Sunday, August 22nd The Brown County Ambulance Association transported an individual from an Ainsworth residence to the Brown County Hospital. Investigated a report of a suspicious female subject possibly loitering at an Ainsworth business.

Brown County Rural Fire Board The Brown County Rural Fire Protection District will meet Wednesday, September 8th at the Ainsworth Fire Hall Meeting Room. The Budget Hearing and Summary will be at 8:00 p.m.
