I cried today. I cried because there were so few parents at the Critical Race Theory and Comprehensive Sexuality Education informational meeting. I cried because there were so few school teachers there. I cried because only one school board member was at the meeting, and our superintendent could not make it. I cried because I don’t want to be an activist, but I can’t let my children be groomed for sexualization. I cried because this battle is too big for me and I don’t know what to do. I cried at the thought our school board members’ hands might be tied, and they are doing what they can. Then, I remembered my God. I got up, dusted off my armor, and reminded myself I love my community. I love my children and their friends, and I read the end of the Book; I know who wins. So I am not giving up.
