VALENTINE – Visitors to Merritt Reservoir State Recreation Area have a new place to gather the shade. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission recently installed a new 988-square-foot shelter at the Cedar Bay area.
On 02/09/2021 at 3:39 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop near 2nd and Cherry Streets. Following an investigation, a 71 year old South Dakota man was arrested on suspicion of operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and possession of marijuana.
According to Cherry County Attorney Eric Scott, a 38 year old Merriman resident, Jesse L. Hare, was sentenced on Friday, February 19, 2021, in Cherry County District Court in the August 2020 shooting of his son, 20 year-old Logan Hare.
