Ainsworth Senior Center Celebrates 45 Years

Forty-five years ago on August 2, 1981, the Ainsworth Senior Center held an open house to celebrate their new building. Senior Center officers in 1981 were Dorothy Walton, Bill Gudgel, Dwight Moody, Burdetta Jansen and George Brede.

Area Fire Departments Respond to Friday Night Fire

A Friday night fire destroyed a building in Ainsworth. According to Ainsworth Assistant Fire Chief Devin Painter, at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Ainsworth Community Schools Begins Classes on Thursday, August 13

Ainsworth Community Schools will open its doors to students for the 2026-27 school year on Thursday, August 13. The school has a host of new employees beginning this year.
Ainsworth Reclaims Border Cup

Ainsworth recaptured the Border Cup Saturday at the Ainsworth Golf Course, winning the annual match play event between members of the Ainsworth Golf Course and Bassett Country Club by a score of 15-1/2 to 9-1/2.

United Methodist Church Hosts Lunch Stand

The Family Ministry Committee of Ainsworth United Methodist Church hosted a lunch stand during Bargain Buyway, raising $1,232 thanks to the generous support of the community and visitors. With an additional $500 contribution from the Ainsworth UMC Mission Committee, a total of $1,732 will be donated to the Ainsworth School Lunch Program. This donation will help provide second helpings at lunchtime for students.
