2024 A.H.S. State Cross Country Qualifiers

Ainsworth High School qualified the Girls Cross Country Team of Emma Kennedy, Preselyn Goochey, Kiley Orton, Payton Moody and Holden Beel of the Boys Cross Country Team for the Class D State Cross Country competition to be held on Friday, October 25th in Kearney, NE at 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Team members competing are: Class D3 District Championship Girls Team (Left to Right): Co-Head Coach Trey Schlueter, Payton Moody, Emma Kennedy, Preselyn Goochey, Kiley Orton and Holden Beel in the Class D Boys competition and Co-Head Coach Katie Winters.

Gov. Pillen Issues Statement on Nebraska Supreme Court’s Dismissal of NAPE Appeal

Governor Jim Pillen has issued a statement in response to a recent decision by the Nebraska Supreme Court, which dismissed an appeal filed by the Nebraska Association of Public Employees (NAPE) regarding the Governor’s November 2023 executive order (EO 23-17), requiring that our state government workforce return to the workplace.

Attorney General Hilgers Joins 20-State Coalition Suing to Stop Nursing Home Rule Change

Attorney General Hilgers joined a 20-state coalition, led by Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach, Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird, and South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson, in a lawsuit seeking to stop a Biden-Harris Administration Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) rule that would cost states hundreds of thousands of dollars and drive nursing homes out of business.

Medicare vs Medicare Advantage

Jeremy Nordquist, President of the Nebraska Hospital Association Medicare’s open enrollment period began on October 15th and lasts through December 7th. During this period seniors can switch coverage between traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage. The Nebraska Hospital Association implores seniors in our state to know what your coverage looks like, especially for serious illness. Medicare Advantage can look appealing, but it usually does not offer the best care for many of the health situations seniors often face.
