Ainsworth Senior Center Celebrates 45 Years

Forty-five years ago on August 2, 1981, the Ainsworth Senior Center held an open house to celebrate their new building. Senior Center officers in 1981 were Dorothy Walton, Bill Gudgel, Dwight Moody, Burdetta Jansen and George Brede.

Ainsworth Community Schools will open its doors to students for the 2026-27 school year on Thursday, August 13. The school has a host of new employees beginning this year.
Ainsworth Reclaims Border Cup

Ainsworth recaptured the Border Cup Saturday at the Ainsworth Golf Course, winning the annual match play event between members of the Ainsworth Golf Course and Bassett Country Club by a score of 15-1/2 to 9-1/2.

While Nebraskans can expect to see many boaters on the lakes, they also can expect to find Nebraska Game and Parks staff inspecting boats for invasive zebra mussels. Zebra mussels are a small, Dshaped clam with alternating light and dark bands across the shell.
