Legislative Notes

Yesterday, my priority bill (LB 77) passed final reading with exactly thirty-three votes. It will be signed by the Governor next Tuesday, May 2nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Warner Chamber of the Capitol. I have been working on this bill for the entire seven years I’ve spent in the legislature.

High School Students Converge on Husker Meats to Learn About Beef Carcass Evaluations

Sixty-nine high school students along with sponsors and chaperones from Stapleton, Thedford, Valentine, Dunning and Bassett were in Ainsworth on Monday, April 17th. The students were at Husker Meats to learn how to evaluate beef carcasses as part of a Field Day sponsored by the Sandhills Cattle Association.

An event last week spotlighted the jobs and careers that are available in the Brown, Keya Paha, and Rock County area. Businesses are looking for people to work and there’s no one better fit for these jobs then the kids who call this area home.
