“While freight train No. 27 was doing some switching near the Nye Sneider elevator last Saturday afternoon, one of the rails turned over and five cars were thrown off the track. After a great deal of difficulty the cars were set back on the track. The train was delayed here for two hours. The trouble was caused by rotten ties.”

Jim Arens Recognized as Ainsworth’s Lion-of-the-Year

The Ainsworth Lions Club held its regular monthly meeting at 12:00 noon on September 19th at Canyon Creek. Lions Club President Dale Hafer called the meeting to order, with 12 members present. “Thank you” cards were sent to the following for volunteer assistance and support of the Lions Club in the operation of the concession building at the Brown County Fair: Sue Spann, Deana Arens, Darlene Ehlers, Marsha Fuchs, Angie Vonheeder, and Sonny Corkle.
