The Lady Bulldogs could not break their rough patch on Friday, January 10th against O’Neill St. Mary’s Lady Cardinals. This game marked the fourth straight loss for the Lady Bulldogs. This loss drops their season record to 2-9.

The Ainsworth Girls Wrestling team competed at the Winside Girls wrestling invite on January 11th. As a team, Ainsworth placed 5th, The team had two individual invite champions, Jolyn Pozehl and Paisley Hoffman.

On Friday, January 3rd, the Ainsworth Lady Bulldogs ended up a good deal behind the Mullen Broncos and lost 52-35. Ainsworth was on the road against the Mullen Lady Broncos.

So far, during the 2024-2025 flu season, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has reported three pediatric deaths attributed to influenza. Tragically, one of these deaths occurred within the North Central District Health Department (NCDHD) service area.

The University of Nebraska at Kearney announced students who earned a place on the dean’s list for the fall 2024 semester. Students who are on the dean’s list must have completed 12 credit hours or more of classes with a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale.

The 2025 mountain lion hunting season in Nebraska’s Niobrara Unit closed January 2nd after three mountain lions, one male and two females, were harvested on opening day. Regulations require the Niobrara Unit to be closed once the annual harvest limit of four mountain lions — with a sublimit of 2 females — is reached.

The Ainsworth Bulldogs took a 45-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cozad Haymakers on Saturday, December 21st. Several Bulldog players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short.
