The Ainsworth Lady Bulldogs picked up their second win of the season at the Holiday Tournament held in Summerland on December 27th and 28th. The Lady Bulldogs played the Wakefield Lady Trojans in first round action at the Holiday Tournament on December 27th and came away with a 46-40 win.

Coming off the Holiday Moratoreum, the Ainsworth Bulldogs competed in the Holiday Tournament in Summerland on December 27th and 28th. The Summerland Holiday Tourney in Ewing showcased Summerland, Ainsworth, Wakefield and Winside.

Megan Jones, wrestling in the 135 lb. weight class, took first place pinning all three of her opponents.

The Ainsworth Girls Wrestling Team was in Valentine on December 20th for the Valentine Girls Invite. As a team, Ainworth placed 6th with 59 team points out of 16 teams competing.

Gracyn Painter led the Lady Bulldogs in scoring with 13 points against the Broken Bow Lady Indians.

The Ainsworth Lady Bulldogs were dealt a 54-19 loss at the hands of Valentine on Tuesday, December 17th in Valentine. The Lady Bulldogs had a slight advantage over the Lady Badgers in the first quarter with a 7-6 lead.

The Ainsworth Bulldogs hosted the Broken Bow Indians on December 20th and were handed their fifth lost of the season, 75-40. Broken Bow was hot right out of the chute putting up 32 points in the first quarter while Ainsworth struggled against Bow’s height and managed only nine points.

The Ainsworth Bulldogs were not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday, December 17th as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. The Bulldogs took a blow against Valentine, falling 70-28.

Bighorn Sheep Management Hunt Applications Begin December 31st

Lottery applications will be accepted by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission between December 31st through January 13th for a bighorn sheep management hunt. This hunt is intended to balance the current ram-ewe ratio and provide additional hunting opportunity.
