July 25, 2001 25 Years Ago 'Bridge Work Continues on Niobrara River and Bone Creek Bridges' Capitol Contractors and Perrett Construction continue to make progress on the Bone Creek Bridge and the Niobrara River Bridge. The two bridges are located on Highway 183.

Taking Time for What Matters Most Summer is flying by, and it can be so easy to become consumed by busy schedules, deadlines, and the constant responsibilities competing for our attention that we miss the opportunities to enjoy the “good life.” Summer in Nebraska offers many opportunities to step back and reconnect with the people and traditions that matter most. Some of my favorite memories as both a kid and a parent involved 4-H, and with county fairs well underway, I am reminded of those values.
High Property Taxes are Easy to Describe, Harder to Solve That time of year is nearing – the time when you have to pay the second half of your property taxes, due by the end of August. It’s a big check, and I write two of them, one for my house and one for the small farm that’s still in the family.
