The Ainsworth Lions Club held its family picnic and regular monthly meeting at 5 p.m. on July 20th at the Ainsworth Community Schools Cafeteria.

Rock County Hospital Golf Tournament Results

Thirty-eight teams supported the Rock County Hospital Friday by participating in its 16th annual four-person scramble golf tournament at the Bassett Country Club. The G&V’s Market team of George Friedrich, Vicki Friedrich, Steve Camp and Kristie Camp won a scorecard playoff over the team of Keian Fischer, Brandt LeZotte, Riar LeZotte and Merit Wietzki and the team of Jake Friedrich, Lacey Friedrich, Carter Camp and Derek Camp after all three teams carded 8-under par rounds of 28.

For me, simply pulling into the National High School Finals Rodeo is one of them. The excitement is unlike anything else. Seeing hundreds of trailers, horses being unloaded, families greeting old friends, and young competitors preparing for the biggest week of their high school rodeo careers creates an atmosphere that is hard to describe. It is a feeling of anticipation, excitement, and pride that never gets old.

Care Center Board Meets with Commissioners and City Council

The Sandhills Care Center Board of Directors met in a joint session Monday with the Ainsworth City Council and the Brown County Commissioners to continue discussions on building a new facility. Care Center Board Chair Tom Jones said ArCuretecture submitted a bid for the marketing and feasibility study, which would be the first step toward gauging whether a new facility would be workable.
