Carl Hart, NDOT Highway Project Manager, reported work continues to progress as planned on the Main Street Project in Ainsworth. The sanitary sewer, water services and storm sewer have been installed from Highway 20 (4th Street) to 3rd Street.

Community Needs Survey During the regular June 6th Long Pine City Council meeting, representatives of CNEDD, Carla Kimball and Rachel Magruder, presented the Long Pine City Councilmen - Dave Cheatum, Bryan Sanford, Linda Alberts and Andrea Collatos, the recently completed 99 page Long Pine Community Needs Survey which was completed by 121 residents of Long Pine. Some of the key issues they pointed out of concern were housing, streets and infrastructure and child care.

The American Legion Post #79 will have their annual Flag Disposal Ceremony on Flag Day, June 14th at 7:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post on Woodward Street.

On the corner of Main and Second Street sits the newest place in town to settle a sweet tooth: Stella’s Floral and Sweets. The business, formerly Ainsworth Flowers and Gifts, changed ownership to Sheena Ferris in May.

On Tuesday, May 22nd, 26 people--18 high school students and 8 sponsors--traveled as the United Methodist Youth Fellowship to Lincoln, NE to do mission work with the Matt Talbot Kitchen Outreach and the Center for People.
