Students from across the state were awarded Proficiency Awards at the 96th annual Nebraska FFA State Convention held April 3rd 5th. The Proficiency Awards program encourages members to set personal goals and learn practical skills. The program provides recognition to FFA members for exceptional accomplishments and excellence in their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs.
“Midnight Masquerade” is the theme for this year’s AHS Junior/ Senior Prom set to take place on Saturday, April 13th. The event will begin with students going to the banquet at 5:30 p.m. at the Ainsworth Conference Center in their formal attire.
A & R Construction of Plainview, the prime contractor, started work on the Main Street Project on Tuesday, April 2nd. Crews started removing the surface from Main Street.
Ron Reinert met with the Brown County Commissioners during their regular meeting on April 2nd to discuss drainage on Norden Avenue north of Plum Creek. Reinert said the west ditch is full and sand is washing into pasture land after heavy rains.
The Long Pine City Council Andrea Collatos, Dave Cheatum, Linda Alberts and Bryan Sanford, met in regular session on April 4th at the Long Pine Community Center. Action Items The Council approved these three building permits: Jim and Cindy Booth of Norfolk are building a 21’ x 40’ wood/pole barn storage shed on Tract 1 at the Corner of 6th and Maple Street.
