2024 Tour de Nebraska Scheduled for June 25th Through June 30th

It’s the 36th year and riders can spend it someplace fun and riderfriendly! Inspired by the beautiful Nebraska Sandhills and the Niobrara National Scenic River, this area is also a destination for outdoor activities with welcoming and charming hospitality and friendly locals. Tour de Nebraska features a “double” format, with two nights in Valentine, which is hometown to the state suds partner Bolo Brewing Co.

Ainsworth City Council Receives CARC Report on LB 840

During the regular meeting of the Ainsworth City Council on January 10th, the council heard a report from Marcus Fairhead on the Citizen Advisory Review Committee (CARC) on the LB 840 program. Fairhead said the committee reviewed financial reports including the budget document for the fund for the current fiscal year beginning October 1, 2023.

Where Do You Go With 14” of Snow?

Another snowstorm swept across northern Nebraska and southern South Dakota dropping 14 inches of snow on Ainsworth. The National Weather Service reported snow amounts including 18 inches of snow northwest of O'Neill, 18 inches in Thedford, 16 inches in Bassett, 15 inches in Long Pine, and 12.3 inches southwest of Springview.

Daniels to be Inducted into the NSWCA Hall of Fame

The Nebraska Scholastic Wrestling Coaches Association has announced its Hall of Fame inductees for the Class of 2023! The NSWCA was created in 1975 by a group of wrestling coaches headed by Jim Holechek of Lincoln East. Holechek and others envisioned an organization of wrestling coaches dealing specifically with wrestling and not under the umbrella of the Nebraska Coaches Association.

Ainsworth Chamber Recognizes 2023 Outstanding Citizens

Saturday evening, January 14th, the Ainsworth Area Chamber of Commerce held its Denim & Diamonds Gala. The event included a social hour, steak dinner, silent auction and presentation of outstanding business awards.
