Brown County Sheriff’s Report

September 20 The sheriff and deputies investigated a two-vehicle accident on Highway 20 in the Long Pine hills. During the investigation, it was determined that a semi hydroplaned on the wet roadway causing it to collide with oncoming traffic.

Audubon of Kansas Invites Public to Open House

Audubon of Kansas (AOK) invites the public to its annual Fall Open House at the Hutton Niobrara Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary on Sunday, October 4, from 1-4 p.m. The free event offers visitors an opportunity to explore the historic Hutton Ranch House, learn about the Hutton family, and experience the 5,000-acre wildlife sanctuary along the Niobrara National Scenic River north of Bassett.
