Nebraska to Recognize April as Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), the Nebraska Child Abuse Prevention Fund Board (NCAPF), the Nebraska Children and Families Foundation (NCFF), and Bring Up Nebraska Partners encourage all Nebraskans to get in involved in their communities to highlight the need to prevent child abuse.

The Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles recently released a new version of the state Driver’s Manual. The Driver’s Manual is a detailed guide of all the basic principles and rules of the road that all drivers should know.

1897: 125 Years Ago “Considerable excitement prevailed on the streets last Saturday over the arrest of Peter Bowers, charged with violating the city ordinance which provides that a license be charged any one who does teaming* within the city limits, either by the day, piece or job.” The case was tried two days later, and Mr. Bowers was found guilty and fined $10.00, which would be several hundred dollars now.
