Carol Woods enjoyed visiting her brother, Jim Marsh of Ceresco, this past week. Carol also had doctor appointments. The weather was a rainy/snow mix and very, very windy. Jim’s pooches are always so happy to see Carol.

Brown County Commissioners to Meet The Brown County Commissioners will meet as a Board of Equalization on Tuesday, April 5th at 5:00 p.m., and as the Board of Commissioners at 5:15 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Room in the Courthouse.

But lately meteorologists are telling us that the weather is becoming less predictable in many circumstances because of the extreme nature of many weather phenomena, such as atmospheric rivers, pyrocumulus clouds (firestorms), and even pyrocumulonimbus columns (vast firestorms that can generate lightning and cause smoke particles to enter the stratosphere).

Ainsworth Track Teams Open Season at the DakotaDome

After three years absent from the Dan Lennon B High School Track and Field Meet at the USD DakotaDome in Vermillion, the AHS track athletes returned to the indoor track for their first meet of the 2022 season on March 22nd. This was the first and only opportunity for current seniors to experience the USD college-level atmosphere, and it did not disappoint.

Branding School Event in Valentine on April 27th

The Sandhills Cattle Association, Nebraska Beef Quality Assurance, and Nebraska Extension – Beef Systems have teamed up for the first-ever “Branding School.” This event brings content that will be beneficial for producers before their next branding.
