This has been a busy legislative interim. The Government Committee has held several interim study hearings, we continue to hold meetings about potential legislation, and of course we spent much of September in a special session for redistricting. Relationships matter a great deal in politics, and relationships between some senators have gotten pretty raw over the past year. I was elected to promote conservative principles in the Nebraska Capitol. I cannot do that job well without building relationships with as many of my colleagues as possible.

The annual Veterans Day Program was held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 in McAndrew Gymnasium at Ainsworth Community Schools. This was the first year of the program where no World War II Veterans were present. Two local WWII veterans reside in the nursing home and could not attend.

Off and on for over a year, the Ainsworth City Council has been discussing garbage service for Ainsworth residents. In August of 2020, Terry Flick with J&J Sanitation of O’Neill, NE, met with Ainsworth City Council and presented a proposal for J&J Sanitation to contract with the City of Ainsworth for garbage service.

Ariana Arellano There are around 19 million veterans in the USA. Why should we have a holiday dedicated to the veterans? How can we show our veterans appreciation? What even is a veteran? To start off a veteran is a person who has finished their job serving our country.

The Ainsworth 7th – 12th Grade Choral Department performed Shrek the Musical on Thursday - Saturday, November 4th - 6th in the Ainsworth Community Schools Learning Center. The lead characters were played by Cole Bodeman as Lord Farquaad, Cameryn Goochey as Donkey, Gavin Olinger as Shrek and Makenna Pierce as Fiona.

Craft and vendor fair goers had the opportunity to purchase jewelry, jelly, make up, gift cards, small home decor, blankets, plants, purses and much more during the recent Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair held at The Connection on November 6th. There were some silent auction baskets, plus the Ainsworth Pink Ladies Dart League helped serve homemade chili, chicken noodle soup, broccoli cheese and a variety of pies to help raise funds for medical expenses for the Cole McCall family.
