The Sandhills Cancer Fund held its 12th Annual Riders Unite for the Fight Against Cancer fundraiser on Saturday, September 25th. Participants were greeted with warm, sunny September weather.

The Ainsworth Bulldog Volleyball team went to five sets against the O’Neill Eagles on Thursday, September 30th, but came home without the win. The now 10-8 Bulldogs dropped the first two sets, but rallied back to win the third and fourth sets, pushing the game into a fifth set.

The AHS girls golf team was in difficult competition last week with the Southwest Conference Golf Tournament at Wild Horse Golf Club in Gothenburg on Tuesday, September 28th. The challenging course allowed for the team to gain great experience, especially with navigating the course to avoid the large sand bunkers and native prairie grass rough. Scores for the day are as follows: Haley Schroedl - 130, Shawna Fernau - 161, Jaden Appleman - 164, Jordan Beatty - 175, Allison Taylor - 191 and Hannah Beel - 180 (JV).

Lexington Area Solid Waste Agency (LASWA) held a household hazardous waste collection at KBR Transfer Station in Ainsworth on Friday, October 1st. Items like pesticides, paints and thinners, auto products, batteries, cleaning products and light bulbs were all accepted at the waste collection..

The American Legion Auxiliary #79 held the regular monthly meeting September 28, 2021, at the post home beginning at 7:30 p.m. The meeting was opened according to ritual.

A regular meeting of the Brown County Hospital (BCH) Board of Trustees was held Monday, September 20, 2021. Present at the meeting were Chairman Brent Deibler, John Gross, Tate Schipporeit and Jim Walz. Brian Delimont was excused. Also attending were John Werner - CEO, Brandy Bussinger - DON, Tad Stearns - Controller, Tami Kovar - Recording Secretary, Dr. Campbell, Randy Hoffman - Seim Johnson. Travis Englund joined the meeting via Zoom.
