The Ainsworth Bulldog football team hosted its final home game of the season on Friday, October 9. The Bulldogs were held scoreless until the final minutes of the game when they got a two-point safety.

The Lady Dawgs took down the Hyannis Longhorns in four sets (25-16, 23-25, 25-13, 2512) during the team’s last regular- season home game on Thursday, October 1. For the Dawgs, senior Gracyn Painter had 16 kills, followed by sophomore Ava Graff with five and senior Jaylee Good with three.

Deer hunters are reminded that in-person check stations will be used during the nine-day firearm season this year. All deer harvested during the November 13th – 21st season must be accompanied by the hunter and taken to a check station no later than 1:00 p.m.

Some nice days have been enjoyed this past week and some not. Carol Woods’ friend, Gay, has said her father predicted snow a few days after fog. Seems that is predicted. Carol’s brother, Jim of Ceresco, had lots of rain this past week - 2.35”.

On October 28th, Governor Pete Ricketts announced that he had signed an executive order barring state agencies from enforcing coronavirus vaccine mandates on state teammates. “President Biden’s coronavirus vaccine mandate is a stunning violation of personal freedom and abuse of the federal government’s power,” said Governor Ricketts.
