Ainsworth Residents Purchase Solar Shares at NPPD Open House, Now Sold Out

On Tuesday, August 10th NPPD hosted an open house for community members to learn more about the city’s Sunwise community solar program. Residents in attendance purchased all but about 50 shares during the open house, and within the next two days, all 224 shares available for Ainsworth were reserved.

Firemen Respond to Silage Pit Fire

The Ainsworth Volunteer Fire Department was called to a silage pit fire at the O’Hare Farm northwest of Ainsworth on Sunday afternoon, August 15th. Ground hay caught fire and a tractor and loader was used to break up the pile of ground hay as firemen hosed down the pile and loader. Firemen were at the fire for three to four hours putting out hot spots.

Ainsworth City Council Amends Vacant Building Ordinance

For the past few months, the Ainsworth City Council has been discussing amending the Vacant Building ordinance and voted unanimously to amend the ordinance at the regular council meeting on August 11th.

August 8 - 14, 2021 Sunday, August 8th Received reports of a dog-at-large on North Maple Street. Deputies were unable to locate the dog at that time.
