Painter’s Place

In order to truly carry on the Worrells legacy here at the Ainsworth Star-Journal, I wanted to create my own column, similar to Kathy’s ‘Kat’s Korner.’ So, here is the first ever “Painter’s Place.” How Did We End Up Here? On December 14th, my dad called me right as Nate (my boyfriend at the time) and I were getting ready to leave for our niece’s birthday party. I remembered hearing that the paper would be closing, but was not expecting the conversation we were about to have.

Yearly, the local American Legion Auxilary (ALA) sponsors an Americanism Essay Contest. This contest is for students in grades 3-12, with different grade levels being separated into six divisions.

Prairie View Gospel Barn Welcomes Legacy Five

Prairie View Gospel Barn is proud to welcome Legacy Five for a matinee performance at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 9. When the legendary Cathedral Quartet retired in December of 1999, Scott Fowler and Roger Bennett decided to continue the rich musical tradition of Southern Gospel Quartet singing.
