Morningside University Recognizes Fall 2024 Dean’s List

Morningside University announced the 475 students named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester of the 2024-25 academic year. The Dean’s List recognizes Morningside students who achieve a 3.67-grade point average or better and complete at least 12 credits of coursework with no grade below a “C-.” Students that achieved a 4.0-grade point average are denoted with an asterisk (*).
Rural Main Street Economy Plummets as Trump Bump Fades

After advancing above growth neutral last month for the first time since July 2023, the overall Rural Mainstreet Index (RMI) sank below the 50.0 reading in December, according to the monthly survey of bank CEOs in rural areas of a 10-state region dependent on agriculture and/or energy. Overall: The region’s overall reading for December plummeted to 39.6 from November’s muchstronger 50.2.

Gail Rock credits an unusual collaborator that inspired a 1970s holiday season staple and launched her career as an author: a mouse. The mouse, which scurried atop the stove in a friend’s home, triggered a series of events that birthed “The House Without a Christmas Tree,” a television movie that aired each Christmas season on CBS from 1972 to 1977.
NDOT Reveals Winners of Fourth Annual “Name-A-Snowplow” Contest

The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) is excited to announce winners of its fourth annual “Name-A-Snowplow” contest. This contest strives to bring awareness about winter weather preparedness and safety to Nebraska’s elementary and middle school students. This year, NDOT received over 1,300 submissions from across the state, a new record for the contest.
