The Ainsworth American Legion Auxiliary Unit #79 met for the regular monthly meeting October 22, 2024 at the Post Home. Following a prayer by Chaplain Katie Rau, the meeting was called to order by President Brenda Goeken at 7:30 p.m.

American Legion and Auxiliary Halloween Contest Winners Announced

The American Legion Post 79 and Legion Auxiliary Unit 79 held its annual Halloween Photo Costume Contest on Thursday, October 31st at the Legion Home in Ainsworth. Young people were divided into three age groups for the best costume contest.

Nebraska Farm Income Projected to Decline

Nebraska net farm income is projected to decline in 2024, according to a new report from the Rural and Farm Finance Policy Analysis Center. The center, working with agricultural economists from the Center for Agricultural Profitability at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, said in its “Fall 2024 Nebraska Farm Income Outlook” that Nebraska’s 2024 net farm income is estimated at $7.69 billion.

Statewide Temporary Open Fire Ban Lifted

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has lifted the temporary statewide open fire ban at state park and wildlife management areas. The decision follows recent rain across portions of the state, where additional precipitation is anticipated this weekend.
