Like a comet that swings by the earth every few years, there’s been talk now and then about placing some huge development between Omaha and Lincoln along the Platte River. Between the state’s two largest cities would be an ideal location for a new football stadium for the Cornhuskers, the reasoning goes.

Legislative Notes

Despite the outcome, I admire Governor Pillen’s persistence and determination to call a Special Session of the Legislature over Nebraska’s high property taxes. They are depopulating my part of the state. He had the courage to leave no effort unexpended, to play like a Husker, and leave it all on the field. I’m proud of him.

Eileen Cook Wins Nelson Football Jersey

A #29 Husker Home Football Jersey signed by Carter Nelson was recently raffled with proceeds to be used for the Ainsworth Football Team camps and equipment. A drawing was held during halftime of the Elgin Public/ Pope John football game on October 17th. Winning the signed jersey was Eileen Cook of Ainsworth.
