The annual Ainsworth High School Alumni Celebrations will take place this upcoming weekend, June 28th through 30th. On Friday evening, the Does will be hosting their Annual Hamburger Feed at KC’s Klassics along Highway 20, with a car show.

A representative of the National Weather Service of North Platte and Traci Booth, Director of Brown/Rock Emergency Management Agency, examined the areas of two reported tornadoes in Brown County on Thursday evening, June 20th.

On Saturday, June 22nd, Long Pine Chamber of Commerce celebrated an extraordinary young man, Ryan Collins, who, at just nine years old, has made a remarkable impact on their community. Over the past year, Ryan has volunteered tirelessly to pick up trash around Long Pine Recreation Park and throughout the community, not just keeping it clean but also helping the wildlife that travels through it.

An isolated supercell developed along a warm front and remained nearly stationary for nearly two hours during the early evening hours on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from Ainsworth to Long Pine. The supercell produced at least two brief tornadoes along with heavy rains that washed out at least one road and flooded many others south of Ainsworth and Long Pine.
