My first experience with cardiopulmonary resuscitation was during the summer of 1969. I was an orderly in a Minneapolis intensive care unit (ICU) when my patient stopped breathing. I called for help and provided mouth-tomouth breathing until the team arrived. Later the doctor told me I saved the patient’s life, further convincing me that medicine was my life’s purpose.

Central Community College has announced the names of full-time students who earned spots on the President’s and Dean’s honor lists for the 2024 spring semester. Students on the President’s Honor List earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average while students on the Dean’s Honor List earned a GPA between 3.5 and 3.99.

This past week has been a fun time! Carol Wood’s brother, Jim Marsh of Ceresco, and Carol’s friend, Gay Magary, joined Carol and Don Murphy on Monday at the Tractor Drive Across Nebraska at Smith Falls with members of the drive for a picnic lunch and seeing Smith Falls. Tractors drove from Valentine to Smith Falls and back.
