    Martins Win Annual Memorial Golf Tournament

    Nick Martin and Kevin Martin posted a three-round score of 104 to win the championship flight of the annual Memorial Tournament on Saturday, June 8th at the Ainsworth Golf Course. Played this year in memory of Dan Daniels, Martin and Martin carded a 4-under par 32 in the scramble round, a 2-under par 34 in the alternate shot and a 2-over par 38 in the best ball to win by two shots over the team of Brandon Beebout and Bruce Beebout.

    Ainsworth Men’s League Golf

    Three teams remain tied for first place in the league standings after three weeks with 19 points following the third week of Men’s League Golf on Thursday, June 6th. The team of Martin Gonzalez, Dallas Fowler and Heath Rudnick are tied with the team of Graig Kinzie, Robbie France and Troy Brodbeck and the team of Chad Pierce, John Pierce and Kenny Wasmund for first place.

    Ainsworth Women’s Golf League

    Fourth week of Ainsworth’s Women’s Golf League, the team of Amanda Murphy, Christy Fullen and Natalie Leach remain in first place with 42.50 points. The team of Julie Micheel, Stephanie Kinzie and Kathy Worrell moved into second place with 35.00 points and the team of Ann Hoch, Jen Martin and Wendy Wilkins moved into third place with 33 points.

    Commissioners Ban Commercial Trucks from Two Bridges in Brown County

    Due to the Long Pine Creek Bridge on Highway 20 being closed for repairs, some commercial trucks have been using alternate routes other than the designated detour route that goes from Bassett to south of Springview and then back to Highway 20.

    Producers, Landowners Can Now Sign Up for USDA’s Grassland Conservation Reserve Program

    The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that agricultural producers and private landowners can now sign up for the Grassland Conservation Reserve Program (Grassland CRP). The signup runs from today through June 28, 2024. Grassland CRP, offered by USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA), is a voluntary working lands conservation program that enables participants to conserve grasslands and provides important conservation benefits for wildlife, soil health and carbon sequestration, all while continuing most grazing and haying practices.
