    The regular meeting of American Legion Post Number 79 was called to order by Vice Commander Jack Anderson at 7:40 p.m. with five Legion members and one Sons of the American Legion present.

    Lunch Chef Salad Available Daily Thursday, March 14th: Chili, pea salad, peaches, cinnamon roll and milk. Friday, March 15th: Salmon patty, winter squash, cheesy corn and cauliflower, grapes, dinner roll and milk.

A statesman thinks of the next generation.” James Freeman Clarke We were lucky that the big snow went south of us and we received a small amount on Thursday night. North Platte got over 14 inches and it did come down in the area where the fires were last week. Valentine received a couple inches. Travel to and from the basketball tournament was great. There wasn’t any mail delivered to Ainsworth and Johnstown on Friday since the mail couldn’t leave North Platte.

    Anglers, Biologists Join Forces in Midwest Walleye Challenge

    Anglers and biologists are joining forces to bring a new kind of fishing tournament to Nebraska. The Midwest Walleye Challenge will give anglers in states across the Midwest a chance to compete for prizes while collecting important data for biologists.
