    Long Pine City Council Approves Armor Coating Streets and Citywide Clean Up Day

    The Long Pine City Council Dave Cheatum, Linda Alberts and Bryan Sanford, met in regular session on March 7, 2024 at the Long Pine Community Center. Action Items The Council approved for Topkote to Rout-N-Seal Elm, Ash, North Main, Cedar and Pine Streets at .84 cents per linear foot.

    American Legion Auxiliary Essay Contest was Won by César Guichard Mingo

    César Guichard Mingo a 7th grade student at Ainsworth Community Schools wrote an article for the Ainsworth American Legion Auxiliary’s Americanism Essay Contest and was chosen as the winner. This is what is speech said: For me, freedom is that all people in a society, city or country can decide, think and act freely without fear of being discriminated against or even executed. This was established in the First Amendment to the United States Constitution in 1791. Many things in the USA symbolize freedom like the American Flag, bald eagle, military, government, and much more.

    Northeast’s Brightest Students Honored

    Seventy-four were inducted into an honor society that recognizes academic success and leadership at Northeast Community College. Levi Goshorn of Ainsworth qualified for PTK for the Spring 2024 semester.

    Brown County Republican Party Schedules Convention

    The Brown County Republican Party will hold the Brown County Republican Convention at the Palmer Law Office, 121 East 2nd Street, Ainsworth, NE 69210, on March 11, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. At the County Convention there will be an election of party officers and delegates to represent Brown County at the Republican State Convention to be held on May 18, 2024, at the Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln, NE.
