    Minimum Wage Increases to $12.00 Effective January 1, 2024

    Nebraska’s minimum wage will increase to $12.00 per hour effective January 1, 2024. In accordance with an initiative passed by voters in November of 2022, the minimum wage will increase $1.50 each year through 2026, followed by an annual cost of living increase beginning in 2027. The minimum hourly wage for tipped employees is $2.13 per hour. Employers are responsible for ensuring that wages and tips combined equal at least the minimum wage.

    Carter Nelson Signs National Letter of Intent with Nebraska Cornhuskers

    It is official, Carter Nelson has signed a National Letter of Intent to play football for the University of Nebraska on Wednesday, December 20th. Sided by his parents, Jake and Sandi Nelson and sister, Kaitlyn and surrounded by coaches and members of the 2023 Bulldog Football Team, Nelson signed his Letter of Intent.

    Santa’s Helpers

    Ryan Cleal (left) and Mike Ripley (right) have been helping Santa out by putting things together in Santa’s Workshop in the back of 1st Class Auto. Each year employees of 1st Class Auto help area residents put together Christmas presents at no charge and they even deliver if needed.

    UNL Awards 1,172 Degrees in December Ceremonies

    The University of Nebraska-Lincoln conferred 1,172 degrees during commencement exercises December 15th and 16th at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The 1,159 graduates are from 48 countries; 39 U.S.
