    Three River Telco Teams Cards a 59 to Win Brown County Hospital Golf Tournament

    The Brown County Hospital Annual Fundraiser Golf Tournament held Friday June 16, 2023 at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course is now in the books with the Three River Telco team taking top honors. The Three River Telco team shot a 13-under round of 59 to win the Four-Person Scramble format tournament.

    Ainsworth Women’s Golf League

    The team of Ann Hoch, Jen Martin and Wendy Wilkins maintain their hold on first place with 38.5 team points after the four week of Women’s League Golf on June 14th. The team of Kathy Worrell, Stephanie Kinzie and Julie Micheel jumped into second place with a team score of 35.5 points.

    Woodburning Class Held in Bassett

    Jennifer Epp, Burwell 4-H educator for UNL, taught a woodburning class in Bassett on June 12, 2023. It was attended by 10 youth from Brown & Rock Counties. The kids designed the cutting boards and then using a scorch marker (colored in their patterns). A heat gun was used to burn the design onto the boards. This class was sponsored by the BKR 4-H Office and all ages could register.

    Fireworks - Be Courteous During This 4th of July Celebration

    The celebration of America’s Independence is a long-held tradition, now often celebrated with food, family, friends and fireworks. Fireworks stands will be opening for business in the next few days, and customers can purchase them between the dates of June 25th and ending at midnight on July 4th. In preparation for the upcoming Fourth of July, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office and the local fire departments wish to remind the public about the regulations concerning fireworks.
