Wayne State College included 1,183 students on the dean’s list for exemplary academic achievement during the Spring 2023 semester. Students listed on the dean’s list are full-time undergraduate students who have achieved a GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale for the semester. An asterisk (*) denotes a 4.0 GPA for the term.

The Barta Brothers Ranch is a 6,000-acre property donated to the University of Nebraska by Clifford and James Barta in 1996. The ranch has housed a variety of research projects over the years including studies on Sandhills’ biocomplexity and a 20-year-long grazing systems production survey. One of the newest research projects, commonly referred to as CAM (collaborative adaptive management), will be the primary focus of the open house at Barta Brothers Ranch on July 25th, from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Marrying a farm kid has shown me the immense amount of pride in being part of the Ag community. It is prevalent that the agricultural profession, while rewarding, is challenging. Running big dollar operations that are both physically and mentally demanding creates some serious strain on our mental health. Whether it’s a coop employee spraying chemicals or spreading fertilizer for 70+ hours a week or a farmer during planting or harvest, the demand never truly stops.

Danny Daniels (deceased) was inducted into the Nebraska Scholastic Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame Class of 2023 on June 9th at the annual NSWCA banquet in Grand Island. Family members were present to accept the award on behalf of Daniels.
