    Low Water Affecting Nebraska Boaters This Spring

    People planning to launch boats in Nebraska this spring should beware of low-water conditions across the state. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission advises boaters to be patient and cautious when launching and loading a boat.

    Ainsworth Community School Positions Opened by Retirement Being Filled

    The Ainsworth Board of Education - Mark Johnson, Frank Beel, Scott Erthum, Brad Wilkins, Jessica Pozehl and Bryan Doke, met on Monday evening, April 10th. Under the Consent Agenda the board approved the previous minutes for the Board Work Session and Regular Meeting from March 13, 2023.

    Accident Report

    The Brown County Sheriff’s Department investigated a one-vehicle accident on April 6th. Holly Anderson of Springview, driving a 2019 Ford Escape, was south bound on Highway 183 near mile marker 198 when the accident occurred. The reporting party found Anderson setting in her vehicle in the west ditch and called 911. Brown County Ambulance Association and Ainsworth Fire Department were also called to the accident. Anderson was transported to the Brown County Hospital complaining of back pain. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– The Brown County Sheriff’s Department investigated a deer/auto accident on April 7th. Norman Nielsen of Bassett, was westbound on Highway 20, when he struck a deer east of the Long Pine Hills. Nielsen was driving a 2008 Ford pickup and the vehicle received minimal damage.

    Brown County Report April 2 - 8, 2023 Sunday, April 2nd Received a report of suspicious activity at the intersection of 4th and Main Street. Received a report of dogs barking in excess on Woodward Street.
