The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will accept submissions for the 2022 Nebraskaland Magazine photo contest through Jan. 1, 2023.

The Ainsworth Child Development Center Board met recently for their monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. Nine members and one visitor met in person. Melissa Polinoski of Communities for Kids (C4K) joined by Zoom. Some of the highlights of this planning session include:

A three-pound baby entered the world in recent days. This precious child was born after his Mom spent seven weeks in the hospital on bedrest. At home, Dad and two siblings were working, going to school, and worrying. Surrounding the family were two sets of grandparents who ensured that the pieces all fell into place. From meals and lawn care, to virtual school, from evening shifts and overnights to early mornings, these grandparents were there every step of the way. They will continue to offer support while the baby remains hospitalized and growing, and after he comes home, because that is what grandparents do, if they are able.

Carol Woods recently accompanied her brother, Jim Marsh, on a vacation trip to Southwestern states. They enjoyed Monument Valley in Utah (gorgeous reddish color) where John Wayne made some movies, the beautiful Grand Canyon, Sequoia giant trees and the “General Sherman,” Yosemite Park, Donner Pass, Great Salt Lake, and other sites. The Mormon Tabernacle was under construction. The Aspen trees in Colorado were beautiful as well as the mountains. Relatives were also visited. It was an awesome trip!
