(AP) _ JBS has agreed to pay $20 million to settle a lawsuit with consumers that accused the giant meat producer of conspiring with other meat companies to inflate the price of pork, which will only reinforce some of the ongoing concerns about how the lack of competition in the industry affects prices.

Results from the 2022 Brown County Fair for the Division HHousewife have been submitted by Superintendent Audrey Wilson. She reported they have 35 exhibitors entering 203 exhibits. Exhibitor count was down by one over last year.

“While freight train No. 27 was doing some switching near the Nye Sneider elevator last Saturday afternoon, one of the rails turned over and five cars were thrown off the track. After a great deal of difficulty the cars were set back on the track. The train was delayed here for two hours. The trouble was caused by rotten ties.”
