After the loss of her infant child in 2016, Melissa Stewart of Long Pine decided she needed an outlet, and Prairieland Flowers was created. She had a background in horticulture and cut flowers.

A regular meeting of the Brown County Hospital (BCH) Board of Trustees was held September 19, 2022. Present were Chairman Brent Deibler, Tate Schipporeit, John Gross and Jim Walz. Excused was Brian Delimont. Also attending was Mirya Hallock - CEO, Tad Stearns - CFO, Lisa Fischer - HR, Brandy Bussinger - DON, Tawny Allen-Recording Secretary and Dr. Campbell.

The Ainsworth Public Library has announced the book selection for the October read. We are happy to say that the title will be the One Book One Nebraska 2022 book by Nebraska author Jonis Agee.

Sam Wilkins of Ainsworth has been selected as a homecoming royalty finalist at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Wilkins is a senior majoring in agricultural engineering and agricultural economics.

The Ainsworth Does will host a meet and greet for the Supreme President, Kelly Wilson from Parker Drove #133 Arizona. Supreme Junior Counselor, Sheila Tangney from Lusk Drove #64 WY and Monica Conroy, Past Supreme President from McCook #3 NE, will be in attendance.

Harvest is getting underway for many farmers across the state, and area power utilities want to remind equipment operators to look up and look out for powerlines as they head back out to the field. Equipment operators are encouraged to keep their machines 20 feet away from powerlines to avoid the possibility of any electricity arcing from the line to the equipment.

Thought for the week: Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness. Seneca Can you believe that October will be here on Saturday? Time does fly. The ranchers are busy weaning calves. I heard that on Monday morning that it got down to 31 degrees southwest of Johnstown. I guess our growing season is about over for this year.
