The Ainsworth Lions Club held its regular monthly meeting at 12:00 noon on September 19th at Canyon Creek. Lions Club President Dale Hafer called the meeting to order, with 12 members present. “Thank you” cards were sent to the following for volunteer assistance and support of the Lions Club in the operation of the concession building at the Brown County Fair: Sue Spann, Deana Arens, Darlene Ehlers, Marsha Fuchs, Angie Vonheeder, and Sonny Corkle.

I love sports. I have enjoyed playing and watching sports for as long as I can remember. And as someone who participated in a sport year-round in high school and continued in athletics (golf) in college, I am constantly grateful for the large impact being able to play competitive sports has had in my life.

Regaining Control of the Southern Border The United States’ southern border has experienced 18 consecutive months of over 150,000 illegal border crossings each month. In fact, 3.5 million people have been apprehended at the border since President Biden took office, and Fiscal Year 2022 has seen the highest number of illegal border crossings in the history of our country.

I know there are a lot of people who can’t get into sports, but for those of us you enjoy watching the best of the best on TV, this past weekend was a fun one. Friday and Saturday, the Nebraska Volleyball team won two BIG 10 competitions.
