The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced the approval of COVID-19 Bivalent vaccine boosters. These boosters were made to target the versions of the COVID-19 virus that has been present in our communities. To get the new boosters, you need to: Be 12 years of age or older Has been 2 months since your last COVID-19 vaccine With this announcement, boosters of the original vaccine are no longer available for individuals 12 years of age and older.

The Ainsworth Bulldogs opened the 2022 football season with a stunning 74-14 victory over the North Central Knights at East City Park on August 26th. The Dawgs were coming off a 1-7 season and have high hopes for a good season.

A firearm hunter education course will be offered by Nebraska Game and Parks Commission volunteer instructors in Bassett on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The free course will be held at the Bassett Legion Club at 201 Buchanan Street and continues on Sunday, September 11, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Ainsworth Rod and Gun Club. The lunch will be provided on Saturday.

Declining water levels at Merritt Reservoir State Recreation Area near Valentine has provided the opportunity for additional upgrades to the main ramp area. The work will result in temporary closure of the ramp.

Ainsworth Lady Bulldogs Volleyball team started off the 2022 volleyball season at home, playing host to the North Central Knights. The girls were ready to play as they won the competition in three sets - 25-22, 25-19 and 25-18.
