Sargent Jake Graff Retires After Serving 20 Years in the United States Army National Guard

Hero: A person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities “a war hero.” This word describes an Ainsworth resident, Jake Graff, who officially retired from the United States Army NEbraska National Guard on August 31, 2022. He was recognized for his years of service to the US Army Nebraska National Guard at his last drill in Norfolk, NE on August 6, 2022.

AHS Football and Volleyball Scrimmages Held

The Ainsworth High School Football and Volleyball teams held scrimmages on Thursday, August 18th to give parents and sports enthusiasts a chance to see the teams in action prior to the start of the sports season.

Nick Martin and Kyle Jackman Win Annual Border Bash Golf Tournament

Nick Martin and Kyle Jackman erased a four-shot deficit with a 9-under par round of 63 Sunday to capture the championship flight of the annual Border Bash Golf Tournament. Shooting a 5-under-par 67 Saturday at the Bassett Country Club, Martin and Jackman found themselves in a third-place tie and trailing leaders Cordell Nilson and Jake Friedrich by four shots.

Ainsworth Men’s League Golf

Kevin Martin’s 2-under par round of 34 claimed the top mark Thursday during men’s league golf at the Ainsworth Golf Course. Martin finished one shot ahead of Graig Kinzie, who posted a 1-under par round of 35. Doug Weiss carded a 1-over par round of 37, followed by Cam Palmer and Joel Klammer with rounds of 38, and Heath Rudnick and Landon Welke with rounds of 39.
