Area Nebraska High School rodeo athletes competed in the 2022 National High School Finals Rodeo in Gillette, WY from July 17th through July 23rd. In Bareback Riding, Spencer Denayer of Seneca placed 11th with an aggregate score of 209.

Merritt Reservoir SRA to Host Spectacular Stars, Magnificent Moths Nocturnal Insects

Uncover the fantastic world of nighttime insects at Merritt Reservoir State Recreation Area, renowned for its dark skies, on August 4. The program Spectacular Stars, Magnificent Moths Nocturnal Insects will introduce visitors to the process of “moth lighting.” In moth lighting, a large bright light bulb and white bed sheet are set up.

Konkoleski and Murphy Win Two Ladies Golf Scramble in Ainsworth

On a very warm day with temperatures in the 90s, Brenda Konkoleski and Amanda Murphy shot a 71, 1-under par, 18 hole round to win the championship flight in the 2 Ladies Golf Scramble at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course. Following in second place was the team of Natalie Leach and Jen Martin shooting 74. Finishing the placing in the champion flight was the team of Renee Brewster and Kathy Pebble who took third with the score of 75.
