AHS Alumni Class of 1982

Forty year class of 1982 spent time catching up while riding on their class float during the alumni parade. 1902: 120 Years Ago “Grand Carnival and Street Fair: What’s the matter with having a Street Fair in Ainsworth this fall? The matter has been brought to the attention of the Star-Journal by a number of Ainsworth’s most prominent citizens and businessmen. Ainsworth’s well-known reputation as an entertainer, when she attempts anything, will bring great numbers of people here from all the intervening country between Norfolk and Chadron, and we will vouch that the editors all along the Elkhorn will help boom a Street Hair for Ainsworth for they will never forget our big-hearted people.

Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course Youth Golf League

Taking part in the 2022 Ainsworth Youth Golf League were the following K-2nd graders. They included (Front Row - Left to Right): Keegan O’Hare, Sofeah Magill, Gracie Gillespie, Carter Johnson, Bentley Mashburn, Mindee King, Gracyn Peterson and Kimberlyn Doke; (Back Row - Left to Right): Ty Ruhter, Blake Sedlacek, Sutton Owen, Mathew Clingman, Elsie Graff, Bryer McNally, Duke Dailey, Henry Mashburn, Sophia Schroedl.

Ainsworth Men’s League Golf

Four golfers blistered the Ainsworth Golf Course Thursday, June 30th during Men’s League Golf to the tune of 2-under par rounds of 34. Landon Welke, Noah Graff, Joel Klammer and Nick Martin each fired 2-under par rounds, with Tony Allen carding a 1-under par round of 35. Graig Kinzie shot an even-par 36, followed by Cody Goochey and Todd Kicken with rounds of 38 and Brett Knoetzel and Robert Magill with rounds of 39.

Ainsworth Women’s League Golf

Low scores for the Ainsworth Ladies League golf for June 29th were: 43 - Jen Martin and Brenda Konkoleski; 48 - Ann Hoch and Darlene Ehlers; and 49 - Calista Wilson. Low nets scores were: 31 - Liz Goshorn and a 32 - Ginger Brockman.

Bring Home Memories, Not Ticks

Recently our family went on a camping trip. Our kids loved how we canoed our supplies across a lake and set up our campsite. My wife and I were reminded how much work it is. Soon our children were experiencing more mosquitos, flies, caterpillars, and ticks than they had ever seen before.
