Karen Anne Messenger, age 81, of Lincoln, passed away on May 30, 2025. She was born on August 30, 1943, in Omaha to Vernon and Ruby Kreycik while her father was entering Navy Officers C andidate S chool d uring W WII. W hen he returned f rom t he w ar, s he g ot t o s pend 7 more years with him on her family ranch north of W ood L ake b efore h is u ntimely d eath i n a tractor accident.

Phyllis Elaine Skillman, beloved mother and grandmother, age 92, of Ainsworth, passed away peacefully on May 8, at Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney. She was born on September 4, 1932, i n J ohnstown, t o A lbert R . and Lillian A. (Hamaker) McDaniel. Phyllis was the second of eight children, with three sisters and four brothers.

Word has been received of the death of Scott E. Mason, age 72, of Long Pine.

Timothy G ene Fox w as the f irst c hild b orn to Donald Gene Fox and Ruth Elaine (Nachtman) Fox on January 11, 1957, in O’Neill. He graduated from Rock County High S chool i n B assett i n 1 975. T im continued his education at Hastings Community College. Upon completion, he worked in Atkinson at Olson Irrigation for a number of years before working at Vetter Farms at Bassett. In 2008, Tim started delivering mail which he truly enjoyed and totally d edicated himself. Those h e w orked for w ould s ay t hat y ou could always depend on Tim to be there and to be early.

Memorial Services for Phyllis E. S killman, age 92, of Ainsworth will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, in the Zion Lutheran Church.

Lela passed peacefully in her sleep. She was a blessing on this earth for 99 years. Lela was born to Everett and Norma Dawson in Meadville on July 14, 1925, on her grandfather’s homestead. She married Harold Adams in 1943 and moved to California in 1955. After retirement they moved to Washington. She split her final years between Washington, Texas and California.

David ( Dave) R ay Rogers w as b orn o n October 8, 1951, to Ray and Dorothea (Wiese) Rogers, in Longmont, Colo. He passed peacefully f rom t his l ife a t h ome o n the f amily r anch n orthwest o f Purdum o n Sunday, May 11, 2025, at the age of 73.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date for Timothy Gene Fox, age 68, of Bassett. Tim Fox died Friday, May 16, 2025, in Bassett.

Rhett Redmond Sears was born on January 1, 1941, in Gordon to Redmond W. and Myrtle B.
