Harlin Delain Welch

Harlin Delain Welch was born in Millboro, SD to Lewis and Vraina (Leetch) Welch on July 15, 1936. He passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024 in Ainsworth, NE. He spent the early years of life growing up north of Ainsworth on Plum Creek, where he lived with his parents and seven siblings. His parents relocated to another state when he was a young teenager. His stubbornness showed through even at that time when he decided he wasn’t going with them and went out on his own with his brother. In 1956, he enlisted in the United States Navy and provided four years of service aboard the aircraft carrier the U.S.S. Kearsarge. Harlin sailed throughout much of the world and was very proud of his service. He enjoyed talking about his experience in the military. Following his discharge from the military, he attended college at Colorado State University Pueblo.

Beverly Mae (Fink) Scheer

Beverly Mae (Fink) Scheer was born in Broken Bow, NE on February 12, 1934 to parents Arnold and Frances (Robson) Fink of Elsmere, NE. Beverly grew up loving the outdoors and helping on the ranch.

Carol P. (Graver) Larson, 82

Carol Patricia (Graver) Larson was born June 19, 1942 in Ainsworth, NE to Russell and Elizabeth “Betty” (Robinson) Graver. She had two older sisters, Bev and Lorene. She attended a one-room school house in Brown County and graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1960. After graduation, she attended summer school at Chadron State College, continuing her education thru correspondence classes. Carol taught at several rural Brown and Cherry county schools.

Harlin D. Welch, 88

Memorial Service for Harlin D. Welch, age 88, of Ainsworth, NE will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ainsworth United Methodist Church. Military Honors are to be conducted there by Ainsworth American Legion Post #79. Inurnment will occur at a later date in the Ainsworth Cemetery. Harlin Welch passed away Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Sandhills Care Center in Ainsworth.

Michael Lee Schelm, 53

God welcomed Michael Lee Schelm home on October 8, 2024. He was surrounded by his father, mother, and sister at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, ID, after an unexpected health issue occurred one week after his 53rd birthday.

Brandon Kyle Kenner, 39

Brandon K. Kenner was born April 18, 1985 in Ainsworth, NE to Paul K. and Ronda D. (Rose) Kenner, of Thedford, NE. Brandon got his first horseback ride at one week old. His daddy totally enjoyed it and they never slowed down. Brandon was soon joined by two brothers, Derek and Ty after moving to Wood Lake, NE.

Michael “Mike” Lee Schelm, 53

Memorial Service for Michael “Mike” Lee Schelm, age 53, of Idaho Falls, ID will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. in the Ainsworth Evangelical Free Church. Inurnment will take place at a later time in the Ainsworth Cemetery. Michael Schelm passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024 in the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

Kathryn (Kay) May (Arnquist) Whipple, 81

Kathryn (Kay) May (Arnquist) Whipple – beloved wife, mother and nana – was born in Duluth, MN on October 25, 1942. She passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024.

Phyllis Georgia Boller, 82, of North Platte, NE passed on to her heavenly home Sunday, October 13, 2024 at The Maples at Centennial Nursing Center. She was born on March 13, 1942 in Ainsworth, NE the daughter of Elmer and Augusta (Wheeler) Mizner.

Burial will follow in the Grandview Cemetery at Long Pine, NE. Carol Larson passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Cottonwood Villa in Ainsworth.
