A Memorial Service for Carolyn E. Schipporeit, age 83, of Ainsworth, NE will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Ainsworth with inurnment to follow in the Lutheran Cemetery northwest of Ainsworth. Carolyn Schipporeit died April 10, 2023 at Great Plains Health in North Platte, NE.

Margaret Louise DeBolt was born July 15, 1931 on the home place in Bassett, NE to parents Arthur and Emma (Christensen) DeBolt. Margaret had one brother, Leo, who was born four years earlier. Margaret’s childhood memories of the home place were simplistic and challenging as there was no electricity or running water to the house. Candles for evening lights and bucketing all water to the house were the every day reality. When Margaret was six years old, her father, Art found an apple crate for her to stand on so she could reach the counters, sink and stove to help start cooking meals. That passion for cooking was with her all her life. Margaret also experienced the grocery rationing of World War II and the hardship of watching her mother, Emma, struggle and die with a lingering illness.

Arnold “Arnie” Jerome Bejot, age 84, passed away on April 22, 2023, at his home in Billings, MT after a short battle with cancer. Arnie was born on August 6, 1938, in Ainsworth, NE, to Stella and Jerome Bejot.

Stanley Lewis Libolt was born on July 5, 1934 at home on the Libolt ranch in rural Keya Paha County near Burton, NE. He was the only child of Leonard Manning Libolt and Donna Belle (Lewis) Libolt. Stan lived almost his entire 88 years on the family homestead. He passed away suddenly on April 1, 2023 at Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neill, NE surrounded by his family.

Funeral Service for Stanley L. Libolt, age 88 of Burton, NE will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Keya Paha High School Gymnasium in Springview, NE. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Springview. Stanley Libolt passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neill, NE.

Ronald “Ron” O. Smith, 80 years of age, of Beatrice, NE passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. He was born on December 15, 1942 in Ainsworth to Ervin and Edith (Poore) Smith. Ron attended Ainsworth High School before moving to Lincoln, NE where he was a mechanic at the Lincoln Police Department and T.O. Haas. He moved to Beatrice in the late 1960’s and married Jayne Bishop on May 15, 1970. Ron worked as a mechanic at Howe Motor and Day’s Cadillac, as a sewing machine mechanic at Formfit and Swingster’s and retired in 2015 after 14 years as a machine operator at NEAPCO.

Eunice Marie (Townsend) Wulf was born on December 2, 1924, at Albion, NE and went to her heavenly home on March 10, 2023, at the age of 98 years while residing at Azria Senior Home in Gretna, NE. Eunice was the fifth of six children born to Royal and Augusta (Kruse) Townsend She attended District 17, Valley Grove School, for eight years with her siblings where her sister Ioline became her eighth-grade teacher.

A Memorial Service for Eunice Wulf, age 98 of Ainsworth, NE will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Ainsworth. Inurnment will follow in the Ainsworth Cemetery. Eunice Wulf died March 10, 2023, at Azria Health Nursing Facility in Gretna, NE.

Dorothy Mae Jackson Gross, 91, was born on February 21, 1932 in Ainsworth, NE and was the third of five children to Andrew and Ruby (Taylor) Jackson. She graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1949. On October 10, 1950, she was united in marriage to Charles Jons Gross of Johnstown, NE. To this union five children were born. Charles and Dorothy lived on his family ranch five miles west of Johnstown where they raised their family. In the summers she fed their contract hay crew three times a day, also working part-time as a clerk in the Johnstown Post Office. In May of 1977, they moved from the ranch to a home in Wood Lake, NE with their youngest son.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date for Ruth E. Werner, age 95, of St. Paul, NE formerly of North Loup, NE. Ruth Werner passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Brookefield Park Nursing Home in St. Paul.
