COVID-19 Updates for January 24th

North Central District Health Department (NCDHD) has been made aware of 531 new COVID-19 cases in the district since last reporting period on January 18, 2022. Case count update as of January 24, 2022: 8,777 Total Cases (TC), 7,418 Recoveries (R), and 99 Deaths (D).

Junior Anglers Needed: Ice Fishing Clinic

Ever wanted to try ice fishing? Join the Niobrara National Scenic River and Valentine National Wildlife Refuge for the first Ice Fishing Clinic. The event takes place on February 5, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Watts Lake at Valentine National Wildlife Refuge. Registration is required and registration will close on January 28, 2022. Please contact the Niobrara National Scenic River Visitor Center either by phone 402-376-1901 or email niobrara_nsr@nps.gov to ask questions and register.

Sandhills Rod & Gun Club Receives $2,500.00 Donation

Question: Can you explain no till gardening? Tilling the garden makes it look neat and clean; however, it may not be the best way to prepare a garden spot. Tilling breaks down the soil structure and disrupts earthworm and good bacteria populations.

Ainsworth Lions Club Regular Meeting

The Ainsworth Lions Club held its regular monthly meeting at 12:00 noon on January 17 at Canyon Creek. Lions Club President Bob Beatty called the meeting to order. Roll was taken, with 12 members present. Minutes from the previous meeting were approved, as was the Treasurer’s report.
