CDC Reports Additional COVID-19 Cases in Brown County

The CDC database reported on Monday, November 15th, 13 new COVID-19 cases in Brown County with no new hospitalizations in the last seven days North Central Health Department reported 166 new COVID-19 cases within the district and 91 recoveries. To date NCDHD reports there have been 6,330 confirmed cases reported with 5,660 recoveries and 89 deaths in the district.

“Thanksgiving - Christmas?” Many times, one wonders what holiday are we actually preparing for in November when you see Christmas items already in the stores in October. By now, many have already started or finished their Christmas shopping.

Legislative Notes

This has been a busy legislative interim. The Government Committee has held several interim study hearings, we continue to hold meetings about potential legislation, and of course we spent much of September in a special session for redistricting. Relationships matter a great deal in politics, and relationships between some senators have gotten pretty raw over the past year. I was elected to promote conservative principles in the Nebraska Capitol. I cannot do that job well without building relationships with as many of my colleagues as possible.

Ainsworth City Council Tackles Garbage Service Provider and Rates

Off and on for over a year, the Ainsworth City Council has been discussing garbage service for Ainsworth residents. In August of 2020, Terry Flick with J&J Sanitation of O’Neill, NE, met with Ainsworth City Council and presented a proposal for J&J Sanitation to contract with the City of Ainsworth for garbage service.
